Although we haven't played since the '90s, we have fond memories of it, and it seems like a relatively inexpensive game to play. Since we made the decided though, I've been hearing more and more good things about Malifaux, which neither of us have any experience with. We decided that we really don't have the time or money to be starting two new skirmish games, so we have a decision to make. What I need to know is, has anyone here played both systems, and how do they compare? Which one do you prefer? BTW-I totally realize that Necromunda has no support from GW now, but I still think we can get by with Pegasus Hobby terrain and ebay purchases or proxy gangs. |

It seems pretty clear that necromunda might be a bad idea if there are only two people participating in a campaign, and with the game having no GW support it might prove difficult to drum up some more players. |

There's a HUGE bloodbowl community keeping the game alive and well and the same goes for Necromunda (although maybe not to the same extent as BB). Malifaux is a fantastic game, but one that doesn't lend itself to campaigns that events build upon one another in the same manner. In Necromunda, you can end the campaign with an almost entirely different gang than when you started due to deaths, maiming, etc. They are both similar in that they are skirmish games, but are still as different from each other as say 40k and Warpath (possibly more different). |

It's very Necromuda style... urban Sci-Fi Skirmish with level up attributes to your forces. It's currently set at 10-18 models aside but the ruleset will easily let you scale up. Not only that, but the rules make for a more fluid and less timely engagement with the larger games in comparision to Necromunda. Best of all, it's only just begun, Mantic is making quite a name for themselves when it comes to listening to their fanbase and I'm sure with every expansion they'll head to Kickstarter to make it an expansion worth while to all. Anyhow, think about it, the details of course are on Kickstarter.com.Killamini's Gaming and Hobbying YouTube| link-> killaminis |

![]() Member Since: May 10, 2013 ![]() RK: 1 MP: 0 ![]() ![]() | Sunday May 12, 2013 3:18 PM I actually stumbled into Deadzone in my search for Necromunda terrain. The current kickstarter for their modular terrain looks excellent. I hadn't really considered playing the game itself, but maybe I should (as if I didn't have enough trouble deciding already LOL). |

![]() Member Since: May 7, 2013 ![]() RK: 1 MP: 0 ![]() ![]() | Thursday May 16, 2013 8:00 PM To play Necromunda- you dont have to use Necromunda minis- if you have any skill at converting, the GW range is pretty huge, and many of the Necromunda gangs are pretty easy to convert.Plus, since Necromunda isn't really supported- if you dont play in GW shops, theres lots of minis from other games you can use now- like Privateer Press, the Menoth Idrians would work pretty good for Ratskins I think ![]() Just find miniatures you like- and use whatever system works best. The only time you gotta worry about offical stuff is if you're getting into tournaments and such. I for one, miss Necromunda, and am kinda pissed GW let it and Mordheim go- but Skirmish games dont sell buckets of miniatures...so...no profit... Some of you know me as Isabelle (G+ and Facebook) and through my blog http://mistressofminis.blogspot.com/ My in box is always open for painting, airbrush, converting questions, and how to build crazy stuff. I've also been know to help simplify crazy life issues ^_^ |

Necromunda was fun, but I really, REALLY like the Malifaux game mechanics. The latest online "magazine" for Malifaux also introduces some campaign rules. They are not overly balanced, but that, and some house rules, and you will get something similar as the Necromunda campaign game. |

In my opinion, the best miniatures and rules out there. Either one would be a great addition to your games. |

As much as I don't find the miniatures particularly appealing, I think I might have to give it a shot to see what all of the fuss is about. Thanks for the pointers guys. |
