 Member Since: August 3, 2013  RK: 1 MP: 0   | Thursday March 6, 2014 8:27 AM Hey grupp!I'm in again with several single miniatures for this month:  The theme is...erh... "Infinity", I guess ? These are commissions for 3 different guys. Except for the Ragman, which is mine. So we have four bundles. First one is Panoceania: A Croc-Man with Sniper Rifle (tabletop) A Nisse with HMG (pro) An Aquila Guard wih Rifle (pro) Then we have a "Major Tomoko" from Hasslefree Miniatures. The client wants to build himself a Section 9 (remember Ghost in the Shell, that ol' thing?) count as ALEPH. This is a test model, to be painted to tabletop level, because he's not sure the paint scheme he selected will come out well. Since I don't have the green light for "Project Section 9" yet, I'm just going to declare this single lady for this month's threat. Next, the guy on the chair. Ok this is really weird. It's part of a Transformers toy from the olden days. The name of that little (he's soooo tiny) guy is Dr.Arkeville. The client wanted me to build him a chair, which I did out of leftover IG and Tau bits. I don't know what to think of this model. We'll see what I can come up with! Lastly but not least, my very own Ragman for Warmachine. A mercenary mage of the necro kind that will help my Cygnar deliver more serious punch! I did a small mod to him, you don't see it too well but I added a little flame in his hand. This is the fun project of the bunch. It's all mine. I have not yet decided how much labour of love to put into him. Maybe I'll try stuff on it, have some fun, you know... Member Since: August 3, 2013 RK: 1 MP: 0 | Friday March 7, 2014 8:21 AM Ok so, black primer is done on everyone.Ragman, as of now. I wanted to try something simple for he basecoat. Went the way of "white on black" pre-shading with the airbrush + coloured inks (brown, blueish-green and black). It's okay for a basecoat, I suppose. But I'm switching to standard brushes until I'm ready for the flame OSL. There's not that much grain on the model, I don't know what went wrong with the picture...  The Nisse and Aquila Guard trench coats, airbrush base. On to varnish and masking the coats, then black gesso on armor so I'm ready to airbrush the base color on the armor.  Small steps... |

He was a fun model to work on. A mix of colors and grit, ligh and dark. Green OSL is pretty much the only thing left.  Here's the base for him. Field of skulls eeeeew!! The green spots will be glowing runes. When I work bone I start with a brown drybrush over a black primer, and I work my way up to beige & white.  Here's the "Major Tomoko" test model (for a count-as "Major Motoko Kusanagi", in a count-as "Section 9" themed Aleph army). Done, except for the face. Client confirmed he likes it, except it's too dark. Oh well, that's the point a test model isnt' it !   This was the reference image :  And here's everyone:  Airbrush is done on all these guys. Now it's down to inks and "classic" acrylics --- You know what? I named my thread "Raggedy Bunch" because of Ragman. But hsoul have called it "50 shades of grey on minis" cause that's all the guys want this month ! |

My models are done but I left them to a friend so he could take proper pics. While I'm waiting for that, I started the next project: "Section 9" themed count-as Aleph army for Infinity. The client gave me a go following the test model. Here's where the first 4 models stand (this is a different female mini than the previous test one).  iPhone photo fail. You can't see the blends on the grey, Meh. So this is the first 4. Can you name them all? Our agreement is for 10 models: 8 field operatives and 2 Tachikomas (some sort of equivalent to Remotes in Infinity) The client will supply me with Dragon Forge "Tech Deck" bases. So I won't be able to finish them this month (the models themselves will be painted, but still on cork) |
